Construction Progress

A Picture Album of Construction as it progresses ....

What happens in the Shining Stars' organization when obstacles are encountered? Creativity, resolution, ingenuity and action. This week we have started an 8-week summer riding program in spite of the construction woes mentioned previously. About 88 special needs students are currently enrolled and very glad to be back in the saddle!!  Classes seen below began on July 11, 2011.7-12-11

Construction work on the TLC indoor arena has been delayed for 2 months, due to state regulations requiring a sprinkler system and additional bathrooms.  In spite of this huge, extra financial load to the TLC project, provisions have been made to implement an 8-week summer program using existing fencing & equipment set up on the footprint of the new indoor arena!   The SSTR organization has refused to allow continual setbacks dampen it's mission of serving special needs kids, adults & families.  We trust in what God has begun, and witness at every "kink & bump in the road"  how He always provides a solution to our problems.

April 28, 2011...SSTR building project update...The "Earth-Moving Team" started scraping and pushing the surface of the old parking lot, which will eventually become the NEW THERAPEUTIC LEARNING CENTER! These preliminary actions are called "grading to level" which preps the surface before excavation can start

April 21, 2011...SSTR building project update... Torrential rains slowed construction a bit in the beginning of this week. But as seen here, digging eventually continued as the crew worked on prepping earth, surface drainage for the new parking lot. This view is the scene of the old outdoor arena.

April 15, 2011. SSTR-therapeutic learning center project gets moving in a big way! Seen here, at a distance, is earth moving to convert the old outdoor arena into a new parking lot. Gotta do that first to replace the old stone parking lot, seen at bottom of view, which will soon become the TLC building. (notice that the "Snack & Tack" shed way in the back left, has "migrated" to another spot!)
