Help us build the new Shining Stars Therapeutic Learning Center!
Our current facility is an outdoor riding arena set up on land donated by Freedom Valley Worship Center. Horses are "trailered in" by volunteers for each evening class. Outdoor conditions allow us only 4 months of the year to serve our special needs families. Rain and mud, as well as severe heat, are limiting factors in effectively instructing students.
Each year, student enrollment grows beyond our site capacity. Our ability to keep up with the popularity & demand of this program is stifled by weather & temperature. A loss of student progress is also a negative by-product of our need to discontinue the program in the fall & winter months.
The obvious answer to this dilemma is to build an indoor arena, which would eliminate the weather factor and allow the program to expand from 4 months to year round. This building would contain an enclosed area for riding, a classroom, a tack and equipment room, bathrooms and holding stalls for the horses.
Thanks to your pledges & donations, the 2010 Star Appeal Capital Campaign has raised $100,000! This means we have reached the amount needed to achieve the $100,000 Thomas L. Cline matching grant awarded to us. With that $200,000 we can begin construction! We can build the arena shell in about three months, and then begin to hold lessons. However, the estimated total cost to complete the final phase of the indoor arena /therapeutic learning center is $400,000.
It is critical to keep the funding momentum going. We have witnessed miraculous giving this past year, and we are trusting God to make a way for us to finish what he has started here!!
Donations can be made monthly over a period of a year, or as a one time gift. You can choose automatic transfer from your bank account, a charge to your credit card, send us a check, or donate online.
