Volunteers help us Shine!
As a Volunteer, you’ll gain tremendous satisfaction from assisting
the participants in their progress as they enjoy physical,
emotional, and mental contact with the horses.
Next 2017 Volunteer Training: August 28th or 31st, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
No need to pre-register! You must be at least 14 years old and in good physical condition.
Next Horse Leader Training: September 7th, 6:00 p.m.
Each year, we welcome returning and new volunteers to our growing family. The organization is truly honored to have dedicated volunteers who give of their time & talents to serve so many community individuals & their families who benefit from our programs.
Shining Stars has a place for you whether or not you have horse experience! There are many areas where volunteers can get involved, such as helping with fundraising, special events, promotion, grants, barn maintenance, etc.
Returning volunteers for horsemanship classes are encouraged to become more involved—let us know if you are interested in expanding your volunteer duties. For example, perhaps you are a side-walker who would like to learn to become a leader, or maybe you have the desire to become an instructor.
Volunteer duties include things like:
- leading horses during lessons
- side-walking (walking alongside the horse to offer the rider support when needed)
- making sure each rider is safe, happy, and has a memorable riding experience.
Special Event Volunteers are needed to serve on the Special Events Committee to help with fundraising events and assist with administrative projects in the office. Volunteers are also needed to help with greeting our riders and guests.
